Christina WiederkehrChristina was born in Switzerland in 1977 with a Viennese background. Fascinated by horses from an early age, she soon passed on her enthusiasm to her non-horsey parents. Her first horse love was an ex- race horse called “Trocadero”, who was by many considered “crazy”. Christina’s mother rescued him from slaughter. Christina says “he became the most loving and relaxed horse. I still think of him often as he ignited my devotion for horses”. The magical bond between horse and rider was born. Her passion for eventing came after a training session in Switzerland, where Christina made the decision to work with horses during her gap year. During this year at Stonar school, Christina passed her first 3 BHS exams. Her fondness for the horsemanship skills learned in England, made her vow to return after finishing her education in Switzerland. Since then Christina has trained and worked with some of the worlds leading trainers and riders like Lucinda Green, Jennie Loriston-Clarke and Yogi Breisner, before setting up her own training and competition yard. Swiss Eventing was born out of hard work and dedication and Christina still has the same Ethos now as then. She has produced horses from Intro up to 3* level and is now member of the Swiss Elite Team. Christina is a talented, dedicated and hardworking horse woman who shows a devotion to her horses like no other. She has an attention to detail that can only be described as Swiss! Christina’s ambition in the future includes competing at major championships and continuing to develop her beautiful yard, Lower Ham Farm into a top class facility. “Christina’s yard is not only pretty, but very friendly and professionally run. She looked after my young horse and brought him on beautifully last winter. Christina is a lovely person and I have no hesitation to recommend her to be of benefit to both horse and rider!”
